EMSAC is a legislated body created to provide advice to the Office of Emergency Medical Services and the Commissioner with respect to reviewing and making recommendations for, and providing assistance to, the establishment and maintenance of adequate emergency medical services for all portions of this state. It's members are appointed by the Governor and approved by the Senate according to §16-4C-5. EMSAC members are committed to improving and promoting the EMS system in West Virginia
The October, 2024 EMSAC and MPCC meetings will be held
October 17 - 18 respectively.
EMSAC Committees start at 11am and General Session starts at 1PM. Only the general session will be available virtually. MPCC will begin at 9am on Friday. The Virtual Meeting Link below can be utilized to access both meetings.

WV EMS utilizes National Registry and the State Education Tracking System (SETS)
There have been many questions in all EMS providers heads about how to utilize the National Registry system. Starting
October 1, 2019 you will see how easy it will be to certify and recertify. West Virginia is setting the stage for the Nation and is the first to roll out the National Registry State Education Tracking System. What does this mean for you; simply put a streamlined, effective, efficient, and paperless way to certify and recertify.
New certification and recertification have been developed to walk each provider through the process. This should be the last change in this process for quite some time and we will all have a chance to catch our breath and settle into this system. WVOEMS understands that there will be bumps in the road and remains committed to to work with individuals as we move into this system.
Give me the RECERT process in a nut shell:
1) READ THE NEW CERTIFICATION/RECERTIFICATION POLICY
2) UPLOAD ALL YOUR EDUCATION INTO YOUR NATIONAL REGISTRY TRANSCRIPT PAGE
3) RECERTIFY YOUR NATIONAL REGISTRY EVERY 2 YEARS (FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN SUSPENSION OF YOUR STATE CERTIFICATION)
4) COMPLETE THE S.E.T.S. (STATE EDUCATION TRACKING SYSTEM) APPLICATION IN NATIONAL REGISTRY EVERY 4 YEARS CORRESPONDING WITH YOUR STATE CERTIFICATION.
5) COMPLETE THE WVOEMS ONLINE APPLICATION EVERY 4 YEARS.
6) WVOEMS ELECTRONICALLY VERIFIES YOU AND ISSUES A CERTIFICATION CARD.

EMSAC and sub-committee meetings shall be conducted according to Roberts Rules of Order and will be conducted by the Chairman or Vice Chairman in their absence.
